Self Care Saturday: DIY Hair Masks From Your Kitchen

Throughout the year, I find my hair can feel dried up and dull. No matter how much I try to improve its health by using fancy shampoos, it still ends up feeling terrible.

For this week's Self Care Saturday, I'm sharing three hair masks you can make using items from your kitchen. Not only do these masks smell great, but they will be a happy day for your wallet.

Avocado + Honey + Olive Oil

  • 1 ripe avocado, pitted and peeled

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 tbsp honey

  • 2-3 drops of essential oils (optional)

1) Blend all ingredients in a food processor until smooth.

2) Spread the mask on damp hair. Leave for 30 minutes then rinse and wash hair as usual.

Banana + Avocado + Coconut Oil

  • 1 ripe banana

  • 1 ripe avocado

  • 2 tbsp coconut oil

1) Combine ingredients and blend together until thoroughly mixed.

2) Spread mixture over your hair. Leave for 20-30 minutes and wash hair as usual.

Coconut Oil + Honey

  • 2 tbsp coconut oil

  • 1 tbsp honey

1) Mix and heat coconut oil and honey in the microwave for a few seconds until warm enough to spread easily.

2) Massage mixture onto your scalp, then cover with a shower cap for 30 minutes to an hour then wash hair as usual.
