Easter Tree DIY
Easter is coming up quickly! It is quite early this year and I've been inspired to make some decorations. Easter is one of my favourite holidays to decorate my house for. It brings the season of spring into the air, even if the temperature isn't quite there yet.
First up, this egg-filled Styrofoam tree which helps to prove trees aren't only for Christmas.
What you'll need:
Hot glue gun and glue (I needed about 5 sticks for my tree)
Easter basket grass
1) Plug in your hot glue gun to get your glue ready. Next, figure out the pattern you would like to make on your tree.
2) Once your glue is hot and melting, put a little bit of glue on a Styrofoam egg and add it to your tree, continue you to do this until your tree is full.
3) After the eggs are secured, find gaps between your eggs where you can add the grass. After adding some glue, take a few pieces of your Easter grass and secure it to the glue spot.
4) Like myself, you may encounter the grass being quite long, after I finished gluing all of the grass I wanted, I cut the pieces where I felt they were too long which helped to make sure the colourful eggs stood out. The final look is always up to you, I did end up leaving most of the long pieces the way they were.
Another way you could do this project is switch between a layer of eggs and a layer of grass. In hindsight, I probably should have done it that way to I didn't have to scramble scrunching in the pieces of grass between. All that aside, I think this tree is a spunky and difference piece of decoration to celebrate a very spring and colourful time of year.
