The BEST Chocolate Chip Cookies
Updated: Apr 10
When it comes to my sweet tooth (which can get pretty bad), there are two things which are hard for me to resist: cake and chocolate chip cookies. Over the years, I have made these cookies for co-workers at various jobs and classmates. They never fail to get a positive reaction.
The best part about these cookies (besides how yummy they are) is that they are incredibly easy to make. I promise after making these, you'll wonder how you went without this recipe.
1 cup unsalted butter**, softened
1 cup white sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp hot water
1/2 tsp salt**
3 cup all-purpose flour
1-2 cup semisweet chocolate chip cookies
** If you want to use salted butter, you are more than welcome to do so. Just don't omit the 1/2 tsp of salt. You don't want over-salted cookies!
Preheat the oven to 350F or 175C.
Mix together butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and creamy.
Add eggs in one at a time until completely mixed; stir in vanilla.
Dissolve baking soda into hot water, then add to batter along with salt.
Add in the flour and chocolate chips.
Drop large spoonfuls onto baking pans with parchment paper.
Bake for 10 minutes or until the edges are nicely browned.
